Renovation of a COVID-19 Testing Centre at the University of the Azores

We renovated and converted a space at the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada into a COVID-19 Testing Centre. This highly technical project demanded speed, absolute precision and strict compliance with healthcare safety standards. The work focused on creating a sterile and secure environment. It included the application of an epoxy floor membrane, ideal for its impermeability and ease of disinfection, the refurbishment of laboratory furniture and washable technical painting. To protect everyone using the centre, we created separate safety zones and dedicated routes for sample collection and triage, delivering modern, fully biocontained facilities.
